about

Inspired by the Dig Dug arcade game. When I first encountered Dig Dug in a run down San Diego arcade circa 1986, I found it odd and unsettling. Why was Dig Dug all alone? Why didn't he just have a gun - why an air pump thingy? Was he hunting the monsters or trying to escape from them? Where was he trying to go, the surface or the core? These became existential questions. For this track I imagine a Dig Dug reboot ala Christopher Nolan or George Miller - just imagine the br00tality of that first death-by-inflation scene...POP!

lyrics

Pump! (Repeated)
I’m am alone in this war
That’s what my soul was forged for
Drilling my way to the core
I’ve tasted blood and want more

I'm rising on up
Just get get buried below
I'm trying to get to places that you don't want to go
Even in the dark I can see you crystal clear
hiding in your tunnels, suffocating all your fears

Yo you Rabbit Junkies!
Let's pack it together and dig it on through
If we're meant to dig forever
Then I'll believe it's meant to be
Some day we'll see the light
And forever be free
